Chinese Culture Night at Colombo House

The Confucius Institute at UNSW celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese culture with Colombo House residents.

On October 4, the Confucius Institute at UNSW and the UNSW Residential Community jointly hosted a Chinese Culture Night, attracting over 70 participants who enjoyed the delights of Chinese food and traditions. It was held on the eve of Mid-Autumn Festival in the Colombo Residential Building (Colombo House), one of the largest and most diverse student dormitories on campus.

Activities included calligraphy, lantern making, mooncake making and mooncake tasting. Students also had the chance to learn about Chinese culture from Confucius Institute Ambassadors, who explained the history and traditions behind the Mid-Autumn Festival. At the end of the event, students and Colombo residents enjoyed eating dumplings together.
