Shanghai Study Tour
The Shanghai Study Tour is an immersive 14-day program which gives students the opportunity to study at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and gain first-hand experience of life in Shanghai.
Included in the trip are intensive Chinese language classes, cultural activities (such as Calligraphy and Tai Chi), business lectures, company visits (to companies such as UnionPay, Volkswagen), sightseeing and guided tours.
The Confucius Institute runs this tour yearly. The 2019 Shanghai Study Tour will be held during the break after Term 2, from 1 - 15 September.
Our Offer
Tuition fees, accommodation, meals, excursions and local transportation are all covered by the Confucius Institute at UNSW. Students are only required to pay for return airfares, visa application fees and personal expenses.
Eligibility
The study tours are open to all UNSW undergraduate students from any faculty who have an interest in Chinese language and culture.
A basic level of Mandarin is required in order to get the most out of this tour. The ideal applicant would be currently studying Chinese or would have previously studied it.
The application process is extremely competitive and students are required to attend a panel interview to demonstrate their keen interest in Chinese language and culture, and a basic level of Chinese language proficiency.

Successful applicants will be notified at the end of June.
